GSM Network Breaks Down In Yobe, Borno

Three days after
the declaration of
state of
emergency in Borno, Yobe and
Adamawa States, residents of
Yobe and Borno States have
continued to live without
network on all the GSM Mobile
Services in operation in the
two states.

In the early hours of Thursday,
the residents thought network
services would be restored
shortly but the situation
continued into Friday, causing
serious communication
problems.

The residents, however,
attributed the lack of network
services to the activities of
security operatives who have
been carrying out operations
against the dreaded Boko
Haram sect, and because there
has been no attack on the
facilities by the sect members
since the pronouncement of
the state of emergency in the
three states.
