Bomb blast averted in Kaduna state

A deadly attack in the Kaduna state capital was averted on Friday evening following the prompt intervention of officers of the anti-bomb unit of the state police command who successfully defused a bomb concealed in a new computer set inside a carton.

The bomb was discovered around 4pm along Cameroun Road, close to Junction Road, a heavily populated area.

Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Adenaike, explained that the bomb was successfully detonated without any casualty. He commended the residents for their vigilance and providing information that led to the discovery of the bomb.

The whole vicinity is still cordoned off by men of Nigerian Army, the Police and Nigeria Civil Defence and Security Corps.
