Ceasefire deal with Boko Haram won’t work – CAN President

Earlier this week you will recall i reported that the Boko Haram sect begged of forgiveness and signed a ceasefire deal with the Federal Government.

Reacting to the development, the CAN President Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor said, "Which Boko Haram? There have been all manner of people that claim to be Boko Haram. Now there are two groups, the Shekau group and Ansaru group, have you heard from them?

"Even if one person says, I want peace, I drop my weapons, we will be happy, but I still ask: which Boko Haram because we have seen situations in the past where they told us that some people wanted truce and the next day we saw people being killed."

He called on religious fundamentalists to thread carefully in the peace deal, and also vowed to use the fresh mandate given to him by the Christian body to rigorously search for peace in the country.
