2014 World Cup: I don’t know what he played - Coach Keshi blasts Odemwingie’s performance against Iran

Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi while giving explanations on why the Super Eagles failed to beat the Iranians in their Group F World Cup match played in Curitiba, Brazil, on Monday surprisingly criticized Osaze Odemwingie’s performance despite him being one of few bright sparks in an otherwise dull team.

A journalist had complained about the blunt attack of the Eagles but singled out Osaze for bringing fire to the attack when Keshi bared his fangs on the Stoke City player.

He said, “The Osaze you are talking about didn’t do well. Osaze did not play to instruction and that
affected the team.”

‘’I don’t know what he played. What he played was not what I asked him to play”, he insisted.

Meanwhile, in an interview with BBC World Service, Odemwingie said, “We expected three points from this game but everybody knows the most important game is between ourselves and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

“Next game I think will be easier and I think that will be the decider of where we will be at this World Cup.”
