Atiku Abubakar

Former Vice President and APC presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar has said that he is the most experienced candidate to lead Nigeria out of the present predicament.

Atiku who spoke in Jos on Tuesday while addressing presidential delegates from Plateau State at his Rayfield House in Jos, described President Goodluck Jonathan as an inexperienced leader under whose leadership Nigeria was going through the worst of times.

He said, "All these people contesting for the presidency are inexperienced, compared to my own experience and qualities in democracy. Having been the Vice President of Nigeria for good eight years, nobody has broken this record till today.

"Nobody fight the military, in this country, for democracy like me. My mentor, the late Shehu Yar'Adua lost his life in the cause of this struggle. I repeat, nobody fight for democracy like me. For that reason, I am the most experienced politician amongst those contesting the Presidency."

He promised to tackle the security challenges facing Nigeria by empowering the military with the required equipment. He said he would create room for more recruitment of security personnel to curtail insurgency in the country.
