Nollywood Actress Stella Damasus gets signed up by SRM to fight against Tobacco

Social Responsibility Managers (SRM), a group intending to use social media to change behaviours about tobacco has signed up Nollywood actress Stella Damasus as a celebrity cause champion for tobacco control.

SRM said Damasus was identified due to her 'genuine persona, affability and role model image'.

Babatope Soremi of SRM said, "In her new designation, she intends to dedicate her social media platforms including blog, Twitter and Facebook to disseminate information on Tobacco Control and also get her fans and other Nigerians involved in active citizenship that will lead to enactment of the Tobacco Control bill."

Stella Damasus is expected to motivate more cause champions to add to their voices to the call for regulation of use, distribution and promotion of tobacco.

The group hopes to get Nigerians to 'enjoy the benefits of a smoke-free country'.
